The programme aims to create an enabling environment for young Cameroonians and Africans to discovering, experimenting with and practising space science and technology through workshops, challenges, hackathons, trainings, conferences and collaborative projects.
RECA accompanies participants in exploring areas such as: the fields of astronomy, space engineering, robotics, electronics, programming, telecommunications, artificial intelligence and earth observation. The objective is to transform scientific curiosity into concrete skills through the realization of projects and experiments.
The programme also encourages young people to take part in international scientific initiatives, competitions and programmes, allowing them to confront their ideas with real issues, work with international teams and discover the opportunities offered by the global space ecosystem.
RECA also wants to foster collaborations between students, universities, researchers, engineers, educational establishments and technological organisations, in order to gradually create a scientific and technological community around space in Cameroon.
Through these activities, the programme seeks to identify and support young talents with particular potential for the future. Research, engineering and technological innovation, while at the same time providing them with a framework to develop their first scientific achievements.
In the long term, RECA hopes to contribute to the emergence of a new generation of African space scientists, engineers, researchers, developers and entrepreneurs, capable of participating in the design of the continent's future space technologies and missions.
