Participation in the radio monitoring of Artemis II

RECA and the University of Douala have been selected by NASA for a global initiative to passively monitor Orion.Artemis II will fly from 1 to 10 April 2026.

On 23 January 2026, NASA officially listed Reca Space Agency and the University of Douala as selected participants for a global initiative to passively track Orion radio signals.

Artemis II was launched on 1 April 2026 and completed with the return of the crew on 10 April.NASA has stated that the follow-up initiative did not involve any financial exchange and that the data submitted had to meet its data systems standards.

RECA will only publish a summary of its operational contribution, observations or data once it has been technically validated.The official selection should not be construed as a general endorsement, funding or contract from NASA.
